CHOREOGRAPHY / MOVEMENT / INTENTIONS

ABOUT

Alba Lorca is a performer, dancer and maker. She graduated in the field of contemporary dance from Carmen Senra´s School (Madrid), obtaining a scholarship from the school for three consecutive years. She also has a bachelor degree in Dramatic arts from Cristina Rota, CDNC (Madrid). She completed her artistic training studying gestalt psychology and audiovisual media workshops. Alba has performed in several festivals, contests and venues throughout Europe and Latin America, collaborating, performing and choreographing her own work. Among them, Dublin Fringe Festival, Midsummer Cork Festival, Echo Echo dance Festival (Ireland), Theaterszene Europe (Germany), Escena Contemporanea (Spain), Operate State (Italy) or Fael Festival (Perú))
Her approach comes from observations of a human body’s potential, and she is particularly interested in human behavior in relation to its social context. Her primary concerns are related to themes of emptiness, risk, subtlety, underlying violence, and intermittency of connections. Her work has developed as a transdisciplinary. She also draws upon the medium of stage itself; its language and its function within its own context.
